Play volleyball with Apple Watch?

Hi, I just got an Apple Watch and I play volleyball 2-4 times a week, mostly indoor right now but beach too. Is there a way I can wear my Apple Watch while playing to not have it get damaged, responses with how to play beach would be especially helpful. Thanks!

Hey, I play indoor and sand in my Apple Watch Series 5 for a couple years now. Definitely no issues when indoor. When playing sand, I tune on the water lock. Just because when I’m done, the sand could get stuck between buttons, but putting it under running water would clear it and I assume when ejecting water it would remove any excess. No visible scratches or anything were noticed.

See the 'What should I avoid while wearing my Apple Watch?' section in:

About Apple Watch water resistance - Apple Support

You should avoid dropping Apple Watch or subjecting it to other impacts

If your Apple Watch comes in contact accidentally with soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, perfumes, solvents, detergent, acids or acidic foods, insect repellent, sunscreen, oil, hair dye, or any substance other than water, it should be cleaned with fresh warm water and dried with a lint-free cloth. Chemicals found in these items could negatively affect water seals and acoustic membranes.

I have heard that some people wear their watch on their ankle while riding a bicycle. That might avoid volleyball impacts in your case, but I doubt the watch will still monitor your heart rate accurately.
