No Text Message Sound Alert with CarPlay For whatever reason I am not getting any sound alerts when I am connected to CarPlay. I get the red alert but no sound which is inefficient. My phone is not on Do Not Disturb. My Driving Focus is inactive. The ringer is on. I’ve done all I’m supposed to do. My whole CarPlay went sideways after the last update. I managed to fix everything but this. Please help as my work relies heavily on receiving text messages.

CarPlay Message notifications are silenced Siri used to read my messages when connected to CarPlay but a few months back it just stopped working. I have been trying to get this function to work again but nothing works. In CarPlay I have Announce Messages switched to on (I have tried toggling it on/off etc.) but underneath it there is a message that says ‘Message announcements are currently silenced.’ but there’s no explanation as to why or where or what is silencing them. I do not have any sort of Focus settings activated and I do not have Do Not Disturb on. What is doing this? It’s seriously frustrating.

music does not get muted when listening to text messages while using carplay I have an SE 2020 model running 18.2.1, carplay will not mute the sound source (radio, music from my phone's music app) when dictating texts that I have received, it won't mute the sound source when the navigator is giving me directions, it will mute the sound source when I initiate a phone call. I have a 2025 Toyota RAV4, with wireless carplay. I have discussed this with Toyota and they are pointing the finger at Apple, big surprise!. I'm skeptical because my phone worked with car play re muting audio sources during siri interactions in my old car (not a toyota) all the way through version 18.2. How can I absolutely confirm that this is a toyota software problem?
