My iPhone is showing SOS, what can I do?

My phone says sos and it’s been saying that for at least a month which is having me switch to a second line which people are receiving my messages and calls through my email

SOS in general means that the only calls you can place through the cellular phone network are emergency (911) ones. There could be various reasons for that.


If you have a locked SIM, the carrier (phone company) has protected the SIM with a passcode (PUK code), and yo need to supply that code to use the SIM. If you don't know the code, you need to contact the carrier.

Note that the OP did not say that he or she had a locked SIM. The SOS indication on his or her phone could thus be due to an entirely different cause.
