how do i connect firewire 400/800 to macbook air 2017 thunderbolt port

I have a WD MyBook studio edition 2 external hard drive - that has FireWire 400/800, eSATA, and USB 2.0 ports. I want to connect it to my 2017 MacBook Air 2017. I understand I have a thunderbolt 2 port on the Mac that I should be able to use to transfer data. I cannot determine what adapter I need.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4

Hi,

To connect your Firewire device to your Mac with Apple's Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter(A1463) and Firewire 800 cable which should work. If you can't find the adapter, you can purchase the adapter at eBay or similar services.
