Printing error Stopped - 'Filter' failed

I've had a bit of a nightmare with the "Printing error Stopped - 'Filter' failed" message over the last few days.

I did everything on this thread here:

Printing error Stopped - 'Filter' failed - Apple Community

But no joy. I connected the printer with a USB lead and it printed fine. It was also printing fine from another laptop.

On the off chance I changed the wifi network the computer was using from the 5 Ghz network to the 2.4GHz wifi network—and hey presto, off it went. I was about to start into resetting the printer's wifi network when I decided on the off-chance to switch the computer wifi back and try to print again (back to the original set up). And now it worked. Weird!

I'm putting this here in case anyone has installed, reinstalled, reset and reinstalled ad infinitum and got nowhere - this might be your solution.

(I couldn't post on the original thread since it was locked)
