Apple Watch Amazon serial number not showing in Apple Check your Coverage

I currently ordered a new series 9 Apple Watch from Amazon that was sold and shipped by Amazon. When the watch shipped, Amazon provided a serial number. However, when I input the serial number provided by Amazon in the Apple "Check Your Coverage" site it says "please enter a valid serial number". I was wondering if there is any sort of lag on when a new product serial number should become available in the apple database or not. I have not physically taken possession of the watch yet as I had it delivered to an Amazon locker. Since I haven't physically seen the product yet, I am not sure if the serial number on the box/watch matches what Amazon had provided to me on their website when shipped. At this point, I am wondering if I should just leave it at the locker and let the watch be automatically returned for a refund since I have read about experiences were Amazon won't provide a refund on returned products with wrong serial numbers. Please let me know if anyone has experience with receiving a wrong serial number from Amazon upon shipment and whether or not you believe this is an authentic apple watch. Thank you.

Thank you for the responses. I think I may have figured it out, as I saw another post that mentioned that Amazon puts an extra character in front of their serial numbers, which in the case of the other post (and my case) was a "S". Once I took off the front character, the serial number had the right amount of characters and showed as valid (but not registered) in the Apple Database. I still haven't picked up the watch yet but plan to and hoping everything is good.
