Portrait to landscape start voice recording in messages

I’ll be in messages and when I start to set my phone down I can see the layout switching from portrait to layout and then it starts recording a voice message on its own.

This is extremely annoying during bedtime routine with kids because it always chirps loud even with volume down and silent mode enabled.

I have all the current updates.

Voice text feature not resetting after sending voice text The voice text feature isn't resetting after sending the voice text, so the voice text is still available to resend after I have already sent it. After sending the voice text, I have to delete the voice text in the app in order to make a new one. For clarity, I can send 20 identical voice texts, the app doesn't reset for a new voice text until I manually clear the voice text to make a new one. In the attached screenshot, the sent message, and the message that is ready to send are the same exact message. Is this a glitch or a setting somewhere?

Is there a way to manually rotate the image in a Facetime call? When I use Facetime to make video calls, it seems to auto-rotate the image of the person I'm talking to. Sometimes it works well, but sometimes it seems to get confused and the image is sideways. Even if I turn my phone in my hand, the image auto-rotates to keep itself sideways. There are a few controls I can manipulate during a Facetime call, such as switching between the front and back camera, but I cannot find any setting that allows me to rotate the image. I should note that the inset image that shows me works - autorotates - properly. I tried locking the screen orientation, but I ended up with my image upside down or sideways.

Why can’t I record sounds in my texts? There “used to be” before the latest iOS update a little microphone in the text window on a message. You clicked and held this and were able to record an audio message. Now it just starts “talk-2-text”. This IS NOT the feature I want. If I want to talk to text I click on the microphone at the bottom of the message. Where did the “recording audio” option go? I use this all the time so my clients can HEAR my voice and not just read the words. Please let me know where it went. Oh, and don’t offer the “sound recognition” option as a fix. It’s turned off and still only wants to open “talk-2-text”. It is soooooooo frustrating when Apple changes something for no obvious reasons and makes it more difficult to use the device how we always have. Randy M.
