My keyboard Zagg won’t connect to my IPad

I have a new iPad that came with the Zagg case with external keyboard. All is connected and on. I restarted the iPad because it was not connected to tye keyboard and only the touchscreen worked. I am running IOS 16.6. Any assist would be appreciated.
