please follow the steps below.

: Start Mac in recovery mode (CMDR +R)

: Go to Disk Utility

: View should allow (Show all devices)

: Choose your very top option (Internal APPLE SSD)

: Rename it (Macintosh HD)

: Click Erase

: Allow Disk Utility to finish

: Restart your Mac with SHIFT+OPTION+CMND + R

: Once the internet recovers starts choose reinstall Monterey

Done.

I'm using MBA 13" 2017 and before I decided to erase all the computer data it is running macOS Monterey. After I formatted my computer using disk utility, I encountered some difficulties as I can't reinstall Monterey. I shut it down then turned on the laptop again then it showed the page with folder and a question mark saying "support . apple . com / startup". So I put it on recovery mode by doing the cmd + r. It showed the internet recovery mode with the macOS Utility and it has the option to reinstall the macOS Sierra. (which is fine with me... i just want my computer to be working again :( ) I tried re-installing but it always results to this error. I have tried different tips on how to fix this kind of error such as: updating the date using terminal, deleting the drive, and tried re-installing. But it's still unsuccessful. Also tried researching any answers through this apple forum and over the internet but it still results to the same error. I don't have any more idea how to fix this. I hope someone can help me.

Fresh install of macOS Monterey - Error code 1009 Hi Folks, So the kids wanted their own laptop, so I thought I'd dust off my old early 2015 (MacBookPro12,1) for them. I wiped the disk, reset the SMC + PRAM and made a bootable USB with Monterey which is the last version supported on this hardware. The install starts fine, does a restart then counts down the time before the dreaded error saying it failed to install. Any ideas how to get Monterey loaded ? As far as I can tell, there seems to be a problem with this: /Volumes/Shared Support/com_apple_MobileAsset_MacSoftwareUpdate/3a30a133b90552c8e80475e5d0d5462b521bd5d2.zip I was able to see that zip there, and using the terminal was able to unzip it to another storage (USB stick) fine. So I don't believe the zip image is in fact corrupted. Not sure if I can install the this bundle manually.

Re-installing macOS Monterey I received an old MacBook Pro 2017 and I wanted to wipe it clean for me to use. After I deleted all the data and tried to re-install macOS Big Sur (as it originally had Big Sur), I got "Operation couldn't be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.)". Then, I restarted the MacBook from recovery mode, and could only re-install macOS Monterey. When I try to re-install it, I get the same error. I've tried deleting the disk sets using Disk Utility, but it still didn't work. I ran First Aid on all the volumes, and got an error when running First Aid on Apple disk image media. The message I got was "Problems were found with the partition map which might prevent booting. Couldn't mount disk. : (-69842) " I don't know what that means, perhaps there's something wrong with my hard drive. However, the MacBook worked perfectly fine before I wiped the data. What should I do?
