hi everyone, I just got a new iPhone for Christmas and it is not letting me turn on emergency SOS features, including call with presses and call with hold release
and I have an apple certified refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max

That's how it worked on iPhone 7 or older iPhones. It doesn't work that way on newer, more modern iPhones.
