How to import .pkpass files into Wallet app on iPhone?

I received an email with .pkpass files that are tickets for a movie. I thought it was possible to import these file in my Wallet App or somewhere else on my iPhone (14 pro running ios 16), but I was only able to save these files in "File".

However I need to show the tickets to get into the movies theatre and actually it is not possible with pkpass files.

Can somebody help me? Thanks.

PS- They sent pdf files too (anyway unable to import these pdf files in wallet as well, but at least they are readable) but I need to cope with pkfiles...

Tickets can only be added through a supporting app (that of the theatre) or by clicking a link provided in email/website that says add to Apple Wallet. papas files cannot be added.

Your PDF cannot be added to the wallet but can simply be opened and displayed at the theatre.

I successfully added a ticket to my wallet by saving a pdf of the ticket w/QR code on my computer. I then air-dropped the .pkpass file to my phone. My iPhone recognized the .pkpass file and added the ticket to my Wallet.

Generally, yes. You could try emailing a copy of the file to yourself and tapping on the attachment to see if it adds to the wallet, it might be recognized. pkpass files are the Apple wallet standard but it might be a poor implementation by the theater causing the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

So you are telling me that if there is no supporting app (of the teatre) or I don't have a link for adding pkpass to Wallet I can't use pkpass file with Wallet. OK.

However if I receive ONLY pkpass files how can I use these files as tickets using my iPhone?

I found that I can use third-party Apps on my iPhone and these Apps can read pkpass files (actually I didn't yet try these apps).

But I'm astonished that iPhone doesn't provide a native way to read and use pkpass files (I read that this kind of file is a standard worldwide, is it correct?)...

Of course I have my lifesaver If I use pdf files as you told me... I know ... ;), but I thought that this was my last resort...

Thank you very much!!!!! It works!! The first time I tried clearly I wasn't confident enough to succeed in adding the files to the wallet....
