Can't see Apple music library Monterey from Big Sur

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro from Big Sur to Monterey by doing a clean install of the OS. In Big Sur I had an extensive music library with thousands of songs, song ratings and over 50 playlists all of my own music collection. Since I changed to Monterey, I copied my music folder inside the music folder to Monterey. When I open the music app, nothing at all shows up. Not one song...nothing.

The music folder from Big Sur is 84mb in size. When I open the music app in Monterey the folder is only 8mb in size which I make up the music app in Monterey is deleting the info from big sur.

Please tell me this is something that can be fixed. This is a nightmare.

You should hold down option when launching Music to actively select the restored Music Library.musiclibrary file. Given you've updated the OS I would expect this file to be archived in ~/Music/Music/Previous Libraries and a freshly converted and updated version to be saved at ~/Music/Music/Music Library.musiclibrary. If the old package contained a bunch of .tmp files the new library might be somewhat smaller.
