do Mac air have heat issue due to lack of cooling fan

I am intended to buy I MacBook Air 2019. but I heard that, due to lack of cooling fan inside the Mac result in over heat when using it for 8-10 hours and the over may spread to many place like display, board, frames etc..

Note that the 2019 MacBook Air is an Intel-based model.

Apple has transitioned their entire line of computers to Apple Silicon processors. Current entry-level notebooks are

  • 13" M1 MacBook Airs
  • 13" and 15" M2 MacBook Airs
  • 14" M3 MacBook Pros (using the base M3 chip, instead of a M3 Pro or M3 Max chip)

The base M1/M2/M3 chips are very power-efficient: one of Apple's big reasons for switching from Intel processors to Apple Silicon ones. You'd probably have to push a M2 MacBook Air a bit to get it to throttle under load. However, if you know that you are going to be running sustained heavy loads, I would suggest a 14" or 16" MacBook Pro based upon a Pro or Max chip.

Those have more CPU cores and/or a higher ratio of performance cores to efficiency cores. They also have cooling fans. This review is a little dated – the MBPs have now gone from M1 Pro / M1 Max chips to M3 Pro / M3 Max ones – but may still be interesting.

Overheating Mac:

A few Tips:

A. No Cooling Hot:

With no cooling fan working, it would most-certainly get hot.

B. Keep a 40% Free Hard Drive:

But, with little free storage remaining on your had drive, expect it to overheat, whatever the device.

C. Don't Use a Keyboard Cover:

Using a keyboard cover, condensation can most certainly occur. Apple always questions why there is condensation when they open a Mac and see water laying about.

There's another reason to prefer an Apple Silicon Mac over a 2019 MacBook Air.

That MacBook Air might have one of the infamous "butterfly" keyboards. Those were the keyboards where if dirt got trapped in the keys, it could be very hard to get it out; and where replacing the keyboard cost $$$$$ – due to the way it was glued to other components.

There was an extended service program for those keyboards, but it has expired.

As far as I know, no current Mac has a "butterfly" keyboard.
