You'd need to ask Apple about trade-ins. Here's a page about the trade-in program – at least, the one in the U.S.

I'd be surprised if they offered you much for a 2017 notebook computer. When my Late 2009 iMac was old – but still working – I used the site to get an estimate of its trade-in value. The site told me that Apple wouldn't pay me anything for the computer but would be happy to take it off my hands to recycle it for free.
Note that while the 2017 MacBook Air originally came with Sierra (10.12.4), you can upgrade it as far as Monterey. Going by your tag line, it appears that you have already done so. Monterey is still one of the most recent three, so you still should be able to get applications to run on it even from vendors like Microsoft and Adobe.
