MacBook Air(m1) charging while connected to external monitor using USB C

I am using my Macbook air for work using an external monitor and I connect to it using a USB C- USB C, which kind of leaves me in an all time charging state. should I do something to change it.

my battery is almost always at 100% or hovering in 90's.

now it is at 92% but don't want to detiriate further using it for like 18 months now.

I found that every time I put it to sleep, the monitor would turn off and so the drives I also have connected via the monitor would disconnect without ejecting (prompting that error). so.. I changed the monitors setting to only go into sleep mode. This now means that I essentially have a continuous charge going to my MacBook via the monitors USBC cable even when its not on. Ive now noticed now that my battery never seems to dip below 100% as it used to, due to the smart charing that would only charge it when needed. Am I right in thinking that it's not using the smart charging feature now it has a contiuous charge even when the machines off? (as it certainly seems that way) And is it ok for me to continuously have a charge going to the Mac via USBC now? thanks for the help Nick

External monitor is charging MacBook M1 Hey friends. I have recently purchased 2021 MacBook M1 16”. I use it with a LG external monitor, which is connected through thunderbolt. The Mac is being charged by the thunderbolt and is at %100 all the time. Is this going to affect the battery health on the long run? I have a friend who suggested to use third app like Aldente to save the battery health and keep it between %20-%80. Other friend suggested to use USB-c to HDMI cable instead of the thunderbolt, this way I can prevent the Mac from being charged by the monitor and charge it by its adapter. I need your honest advice, I like my Mac and need to take care of it.

MacBook Pro charging when connected to external monitor via usb c Hi, I often use the mac connected to a Apple Studio Display external monitor via Usb c. By doing so, however, the mac is always charging even if in reality it is not charging because the power supplied by the Usb c port of the monitor. Is there any way to disable charging through that Usb port from the mac? Could it create long-term battery problems in your opinion?

Leaving the computer on charge will not damage the computer or the battery. The MacOS manages the charging/power system very well. There is no need for you to be concerned.

thanks for your reply, I charge my phone as well from my Mac, do you think I should change that.
