iMessage Activation Unsuccessful

I received an old iPhone 7+ and it has been 24 hours but the iMessage still goes “Activation Unsuccessful” with my sim number. I already contacted my sim carrier customer service, and was told there was no problem on their end.

I have also done these in an attempt to fix it:

Restarted my iPhone
Turned Airplane mode On and Off
Turned iMessage On and Off

What else can I do? I’m really looking forward in using iMessage.

How do I fix iMessage activation issues on my iPhone? In the iMessage activation tab, the number is recognized but can't be selected. Is this an issue regarding my SIM card/carrier or my iPhone. I'm a first-time iOS user. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

iMessage activation unsuccessful or waiting for activation I previously had an iPhone 12 and had upgraded to iPhone 14 pro. In the 14 pro, the iMessage activation is not happening. I am from India and have a primary (physical) SIM as Airtel; and a secondary (e-sim) of JIO. I am stuck forever (days now) at "waiting for activation..." I had tried several ways - even recharged my primary SIM with talk time (since I heard that an international SMS had to be sent). However, nothing seems to work. Its a bit pissing off that Apple charges a bomb but still can't fix these minor issues.
