Why is it impossible to charge my new AirPods (3rd gen) with my iPhone 12 Pro's MagSafe charging base ?

Sorry. Everything is working. Even if the amber signal turns off, they are still charging. Here is what the Apple doc states:
« When the case is aligned properly with the charger, the status light turns on for several seconds, then turns off while the case continues to charge. »
