Can not see ALL of my paid subscription channels on my apple tv box with the new update

I am not pleased with the new update to Apple TV box. Now they are using the appletv+ app for all things. Now that the menu for all things is over on the left side of appletv+ app, I can no longer see ALL of my paid channels. I can only see three of my channels! I then went to the “store” on the menu. But nope. That’s only to add more channels. There is NO WAY for me to get to my other paid channels on the app. Oh and I did a search for britbox in menu and nothing.

any ideas??

No, not for “all things”. All your other apps are still selectable on the Home Screen, outside the Apple TV app. All available in-app channels are still listed in the Home tab of the Apple TV app; scroll down to Channels & Apps.

A select few “connected apps” and in-app channels for which you have linked content, get listed in the sidebar inside the Apple TV app — quite similar to the Watch Now page of previous version of the app, although presented in a slightly different way.

Any shows in Up Next will still be accessible through Up Next, regardless of app or channel.

I can no longer see ALL of my paid channels. I can only see three of my channels!

Please tell us what you are missing. Name the relevant content providers/channels/apps.

I then went to the “store” on the menu.

The Store is for iTunes Store buy or rent titles, same as with the previous version. Not for subscription content.

Oh and I did a search for britbox in menu and nothing.

Afaik, BritBox is available as in-app channel and as separate app in select countries. These two types are not exchangeable. Which instance did you subscribe to?

Channels and connectable apps should be searchable by keyword from the Search tab inside the Apple TV app. You may have to scroll down, as search results under the Top Results and TV Shows headers may fill the screen initially. Channels and Apps should be listed below that, if found as match.

Thanks. It’s hard to go into such detail in writing to get full understanding, my apologies. I am referring to channels subscribed through Apple TV plus. Not just downloading a streaming app and putting it on my Home Screen, say downloading the starz app and subscribing through starz. I have found it easier to subscribe through Apple channels.

I meant “all things” Apple specific related. Movies and tv shows purchases etc. These are no longer accessible on the Home Screen under an Apple “movies” app, nor an Apple “ tv shows” app. As they are now combined in the Apple TV plus app. So no they can NOT still be found in their app on home screen. They can be found on a tab in the appearing/disappearing left menu sidebar of Apple TV plus app.

Quoting you-

All available in-app channels are still listed in the Home tab of the Apple TV app; scroll down to Channels & Apps.

no they are not…not for me.

So when I am within the sidebar menu within Apple TV plus app, I can scroll down to the bottom of sidebar menu where “channels and Apps” is now located. I can not see starz or britbox. I can only see acorn, paramount, and peacock. I scroll my “mouse” (let’s call it) all the way down to the bottom of side bar and nothing will scroll further down to allow me to see all of my channels. I can only see 3 of my 5 Apple subscribed channels.

quoting your:

The Store is for iTunes Store buy or rent titles, same as with the previous version. Not for subscription content.

incorrect. We can see Apple TV channels within the “store” tab. This is where we subscribe to Apple channels.

Go to “store” tab and get on that screen and scroll down three sections to “add channels and apps”, my paid ones are not listed there either, obviously, as this is only meant to “add” more channels than you have already purchased.

If I go to “home” tab on left sidebar menu on Apple TV plus app….yes I have “up next” obv, then “top chart Apple TV plus”. Then “channels and apps” where all of my paid Apple subscriptions should be shown first in the line, then other channel options. Yet it does not show me starz and britbox. Only the other 3.

As you said- I can eventually find my paid channel if I got to “search” on left menu sidebar in Apple TV plus app and type in britbox channel and scroll down and click the channel so that I can search the app for other shows I might like.

However, it should not be this difficult to get to my subscribed Apple channels.

Could it be a glitch? Yes absolutely. One I would like Apple to know about.

and yes…I have checked my account and I am subscribed to these 2 missing apps…. Starz and BritBox…. that I can not locate through easy and typical means. They are not anywhere where they should be.

this is very very odd and glitchy.

I have unplugged my apple tv box. I have restarted it. I have watched a show on BritBox since Apple says “ once I watch a show on a channel it will show up in my “channels” on the sidebar left menu”.

nope it does not miraculously get added there…FOR ME.

I am guessing the New apple tv plus app is glitching out and not performing as it should.

Thanks for clearing that up. Apple has hoped that users find that easier. 😄

Ok, understood.

“All available in-app channels are still listed in the Home tab of the Apple TV app; scroll down to Channels & Apps.”
no they are not…not for me.

Just checked again, those are there for me. 11 rows down.

So when I am within the sidebar menu within Apple TV plus app, I can scroll down to the bottom of sidebar menu where “channels and Apps” is now located. I can not see starz or britbox. I can only see acorn, paramount, and peacock. It is currently not publicly documented (or I couldn’t find it) why some connected app and in-app channels show in the sidebar, and others do not.

“The Store is for iTunes Store buy or rent titles, same as with the previous version. Not for subscription content.”
incorrect. We can see Apple TV channels within the “store” tab.

Huh, thanks for showing me. I guess it is found in two places then.

Starz and BritBox…. that I can not locate through easy and typical means. They are not anywhere where they should be.

Those two are not available in my region, so it’s probably best to have someone else comment on that, or else discuss this with the Apple Support staff.

Good luck!
