Why cant i watch HD videos on youtube?

I used to watch HD videos on youtube thru safari but since i updated my iphone 4 to ios 4.0.2 It doesnt give me the option anymore and i ask why is that? I do not care about iphone playing flash player but let us watch HD videos on youtube please thats all i ask for, i really love my iphone 4.

are you watching it on wifi or 3G. because some of the carriers dont support HD viewing on 3G, simply for the reason as HD videos are of higher capacity and tkaes more bandwidth as compared to normal youtube videos. HD videos should work perfectly on wifi if you have broadband or DSL .

using 3G, i used to watch HQ video by searching youtube on safari using 3G. my wife has the 3gs, she is running ios 4.0 and she can watch HQ video on her iphone 3gs Using 3G. Att does supports it.

You can try HTML 5 YouTube by going to YouTube.com and view it there. Note that YouTube iPhone degrades the quality based on your cellular signal.

If you are on WiFi it would have the highest quality. If you have one bar 3G, it would go to the lowest quality. HQ/HD quality may be available on 5 bar 3G, but note that it requires a much higher data usage than WiFi HD.

I cant bc ever since im running the ios 4.0.2 the desktop have change when using youtube.com on safari so i dont think its a signal problem

Are you using http://m.youtube.com from Safari? I don't have 4.02 installed, but I can still get HQ (not HD) through the mobile site while on 3G.

Unfortunately the mobile site's HQ video isn't nearly as good as the native app's quality while on wifi.

It used to give me an option if i would like to watch the video on HQ but now it doesnt give me the option, thats why im frustrated...
