How to find compatible flatbed scanners for Sonoma 14.2.1 on iMac

I just upgraded to Sonoma 14.2.1 on my iMac (desktop) and my scanner no longer works, there are no new drivers available and the third-party software to resolve the problem also doesn't work. I have searched for a flatbed scanner that can operate on Sonoma and have found nothing - Canon, for example, states none of their flatbed scanners can be used with Sonoma. Does anyone know of a flatbed scanner that works with Sonoma? I am grateful I didn't upgrade my laptop to Sonoma at the same time but it's a pain having to set up a second computer to use my scanner!

I purchased an $89 Canon LiDE 400 flatbed scanner that also happens to be supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint once connected via USB. I happen to use the optional, (free trial) VueScan Professional with it, but Apple's Image Capture sees and scans from it too. I did not install any Canon software that came on their DVD.

This scanner works fine on my M2 Mac mini Pro with Sonoma 14.2.1 and on my 2021 16-in MacBook Pro M1 Pro with Ventura 13.6.3.

A few months ago, my old CanoScan wouldn’t work with my new iMac (Sonoma), so I bought a CanoScan Lide 300. I had problems setting it up, but eventually I found someone at Canon who helped, after being told that they hadn’t developed software to work with Sonoma, and probably wouldn’t. There’s a program called “IJ Scan Utility Lite” in there which works just fine. Have scanned hundreds of photos since. No problems except one: the buttons on the actual scanner don’t work, but who needs them, anyway.
