External Monitor - Turn off disc eject notification when switching input source

I have an MSI external monitor running a ps5 on hdmi 2.1 and my MacBook via thunderbolt 4, when I switch the input source on my monitor from my MacBook to the ps5, Mac says "disc not ejected properly". Is there a way to stop this?

Monitor Disconnecting from Mac Studio M3 Ultra Hi All, I'm having a bit of a problem with my 2025 Mac Studio M3 Ultra. This is paired with a Samsung LS49DG954SUXUU 49" OLED. After a bit of bother getting it to connect and display the correct resolution (the answer was a DP to USB C) it all looks and works fantastic, that is until the display disconnects from the Mac. The only happens when watching a video, or at the end of a slice when using Lychee slicer, and it does not happen every time. The latter is a large part of my business. It's becoming a little bothersome, as to get the Mac to talk to the monitor again I have to disconnect the DP cable, then reconnect. I've turned off the option to send the monitor to sleep both at the monitor end, and the Mac end, but still the problem persists. This has happened with two different cables of different brands. The Mac is a week old and bang up to date on updates, the monitor a couple of days old and the same, so if anyone has encountered this before any help would be much apprciated.

External monitor connection issue I have an external monitor wire connected to a 2015 MBPro via DVI to Minidisplay port adapter. The Minidisplay port adapter goes into the Thunderbolt port and it works great never an issue. I have a 2024 MBPro M4 which I’m trying to connect to the same monitor. On top of using DVI to Minidisplay port adapter (which works great with the 2015 MBPro) I’m adding a Minidisplay port to USB C adapter. And it seems that won't work. The MBPro won’t see the monitor. Is adding the Minidisplay port to USB C adapter messing up / distorting the signal somehow? Thanks

MacBook Pro M4 Pro HDMI External Display Problems I have an external display (Acer CBA272) which works perfectly with an older MacBook Pro M1 and used to work perfectly with my newer MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro chip (all fully updated on the OS front). Suddenly, a few months ago, the MacBook Pro M4 Pro stopped detecting the external monitor when plugged in via HDMI directly and via HDMI using a USB-C adaptor (the external display does not have a Thunderbolt connection). Strangest of all though is that, when connected, the monitor recognises that it is plugged into the computer (just not the other way around) and there is also a work around that will allow the MacBook Pro to detect the monitor. If I connect an iPad as an external display first, then close the lid on the MacBook Pro M4 Pro, I will get a signal to the external monitor and it can be set up as the main display. I can then disconnect the iPad and use the external monitor as normal. Clearly though, this is an annoying work around and only works when I have the iPad around. But it does show that there is no problem with the cable or the monitor, just the process of macOS recognising it. Apple Support have checked the device and they have confirmed that there is no hardware issue with the MacBook Pro M4 Pro. I have used multiple HDMI cables including the Apple recommended Ultra HD Belkin cable, plus the MacBook Pro M4 Pro works fine over any HDMI cable to my television. My sense is, therefore, that something is wrong at a software level and, although I can't find exactly similar views online, it looks like others have had problems with Sonoma, MacBook Pro M4 Pro models and external displays. It feels terrible that such an expensive Pro-level device should require such an annoying workaround for what should be a very straightforward task. I'm looking, therefore, to see if others are facing a similar problem and whether you might have found any solutions.

In short, you need to disable auto mount for particular UUID

sudo vifs

add string with your uuid (System Information – Storage)

UUID=49D00007-FF63-36B9-9D69-6B3BE16866BB none msdos ro,noauto
