400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.

Today, I changed my Gmail password. After doing that, I had to login to my gmail account on Apple mail. I first get "Google requires completing authentication in your web browser." Accepting this takes me to a window in Safari titled "Sign in to continue to macOS". I enter my email address. On the next window, I enter my password. Then I do two factor auth through YouTube. The next window is "Sign in to macOS By continuing, Google will share your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture with macOS. "

I click continue and get "400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

I tried several suggestions from other similar questions with no luck.

I'd appreciate any help.

I found a workaround on my computer. I was trying to install a Google mail account and my default browser was safari, so the pop-up window to install the account came from safari. I simply changed my default browser on the computer to chrome, and then I added the Google account I needed in my Mail app when given a pop-up from chrome. There seems to be some thing in safari that is not talking to Google properly. Somebody should take a look at this problem and fix it.
