Trying to sync AOL calendar

I used to sync to my Iphone 8 and always a pain and had to use CalDav. And had my AOL calendar (desktop) sync'd to my iphone 14 until a few weeks ago. I've tried every solution offered online. Most posts are not for 2023/24. I have gotten a "special app password" from AOL web and entered in to calendars for CalDav. Says it cannot authenticate. Frustrating because it renders my iphone calendar completely useless because it's empty of my so-called "events."

I have had this happen too many times also, last month when I tried to redo the app password, it deleted my whole calendar on my iphone, it was gone. So I gave up, then all of a sudden it was all back in a few days. So now it happened again and I am not going to do the special app password again for fear of it deleting my whole iphone calendar again. I figure I will enter things manually to match my desktop calendar. Tired of all this syncing problems.
