Bug with colorsync

I was experimenting with the ColorSync utility and applied the WebSafe filter. Suddenly, everything turned black and became unusable. How can I recover from this? I attempted to enter Safe mode, but the issue persisted. Then, in recovery mode, I tried to locate files in Terminal, such as `com.apple.colorsync.profiles` to delete them. However, most of these files are read-only and system protected. What steps should I take to recover from this bug except reinstalling OSX?
