I have a new Macbook Air. When I download pdfs from the internet, it does not save to my desktop, however I can find it when I search in Finder. Is there a way to update settings so the documents will save/ be shown on my Desktop?

Are you using Safari? If so, go to Settings>General>File Download Location, select "Other" then chose "Desktop".

Downloads will land in downloads. After that your can move them to your desktop.
Hi Nick,
For some reason it also isn't appearing in my downloads folder. I updated my Chrome setting options per another community suggestion so we will see if that helps.
At least I can save it as a pdf to my desktop as another option
