Static Electricity affecting Macboock Air M1 Touchpad.

Hello.

Some months ago, I was watching movies in my Macbook Air M1 2020. So, I touch the pad and I heard a Static Electriciy Spark. A small portion (figertip wide) in the center of the pad failed. I mean, there was no sensetivity or no response of this zone specially when de Mac was connected to the power supply. I took the Mac to a offical Technical Support in my country and I was said, they reinstalled the firmware? (I am not sure). Anyway, the touchpad return to normality and is working.

Any recommendation for avoiding this issue in the future?.
