iTunes (12.9.5.5) MacOS 10.14.6 (Mojave) Meta Data

I lost the ability to search/sort all of the comments that I had written to manage my music when I updated to Catalina and had a very difficult task reverting to Mojave. I have written a lot of notes in the comment and description fields and I want to be able to capture them should I finally have to "adopt" to the newer version of iTunes. How can I save the notes (comments & description) or get access to the data to export to another music management software system? Can I simply copy the iTunes Library file and save it in my backup MacBook Pro running Mojave? The data is really important to me as I use it to help build Spinning and Gravity fitness class playlists. TIA
