Blocking

Person and i both have read receipts on and i blocked them but then i eventually unblocked them to see if they read my message and it still says delivered. Does this mean they never opened my message or can i not see because i had them blocked when they read it?

Let me make this very clear here, the "delivered" and "Read <time>" signs will not appear if your number is blocked by the recipient.

BUT BUT BUT...

Not getting "delivered" and "Read <time>" is not an indication that the recipient has blocked your number. There are other circumstances when you will not receive those signs. Some of them are...

At the recipient's end...

  1. Phone not in the network coverage area
  2. WiFi is not connected to the Internet - ISP (Internet Service Provider)
  3. Data plan exhausted / not enabled
  4. The device is switched off.
  5. The Phone number is changed
  6. The device is in Airplane Mode.
  7. iMessage is deactivated.
  8. The phone number is de-registered from iMessage
  9. Travelling abroad

Other causes are...

I tested Blocking / Unblocking of a contact for iMessages (Same is not valid for SMS/MMS). Please see the pic below which is self-explanatory
