First time adding a card to my Apple Wallet, the app requires me to search for a bank in a list instead of using camera to snap the card. My card issuer said that other users do not have the same prompt. my card issuer is not part of the list)

I have never used Apple Wallet for card payments. I wanted to see if it is possible to add a debit card to Apple wallet because the card issuer (commuter card) does not have Tap to pay. When I open the Wallet App and ask to add a card I get prompted a list of banks to search for, but my issuer is not part of the list. When asked they told me other users would just use camera to add cards to Apple Wallet. Is there any way for me to add this debit card to the Apple Wallet?

Hello everyone… I called Apple support team. They found the issue. I had to change my region to United States. It was previously set to Germany, hence all the German banks in the list. People who travel have to remember to change regions back. Thanks Apple Support!

I think maybe I wasn’t clear enough, my issue is not that I try to add a card and Apple cannot validate it. I am not even that far.

if you look at the Link from WEX instructions they state that step 2 is to click “add a card” and step 3 is to “add the card details”. It seems to assume that as soon as someone clicks to add a card there would be a form to add card details. But in my iPhone when I click to “add a card” I am faced with the list of banks (and I cannot find this BanCorp).

and no way to add card details.

Either:

1-My Wallet App is messed up if other users see a form to add their card instead of the list of banks.

2-whoever created the instructions on WEX is not familiar with Apples stream which requires selecting an institution

3-I am missing some setting to enable this.

That’s why I wanted to ask the community to see if this is expected behavior.

Have you followed the instructions I linked to above? Again, does the card have a network symbol such as MasterCard on it?
