The mac mini runs fine then after a couple of days the mouse gets a little laggy. Generally I can turn it of and on and the mouse is corrected. However now when i turn it off and switch back on it it chimes and looks like it goes into recovery mode and then nothing and the monitor light flashes as though nothing is connected

Start with this...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

thanks - so it did start up fine in safe mode and seemed to behave itself.
I then shut it down and pressed the start up button without holding anything else down and it has again started in safe mode?
just tried again and it has started up correctly - running fine at the moment - thanks again
