How to split a table on Pages for mac

I already found part of the answer in this older post, but since we can't continue it, I've restarted a post. So my question extends on the first. I how do you cut part of a table to make a new one if you have rows from the first AND second page to carry over to a new table. The method in the link below works to drag and drop the last rows of the first table to a new table on another page, but doesn't allow you to select, drag and drop all remaining rows of the first table if the remains rows overlap to second page.

If you are just a little bit across the page boundary, you have two options. You can use both.

    1. Make the page longer in the Document menu, use US Legal paper.
    2. Make the table smaller in the Format > Table menu by reducing the Cell Height to the low limit, .28".

Between the two measures, you might get around the limitation you are asking about.

If not, there is another approach that is more work.

Select all the visible table rows on the current page by selecting a range of row numbers. Then, click-hold and drag the selected rows away from the Table. This creates a new table with the rows you dragged away from the original table. The rows that were below will pop up to fill the space left by the removed rows. If you do this enough times you will have many smaller tables side by side on the current page, and no overlap to the next page.

Regards,

Jerry
