iPhone was stolen but didn't erase when connected back to internet

Hi, I was mugged in Asuncion, Paraguay and had my iPhone 14 stolen. Unfortunately the phone was wide open the robbers got it, and since they stole the keys to my apartment, which were in my bag, it wasn't until several hours later that I could get access to a computer to put my phone into lost mode and then try and erase it. The lost mode worked, and the thieves indeed saw the message I left – but the erase is still pending even though the phone has already connected to the internet again. I'm confused, does this mean the phone won't be able to erase then and the thieves will have access to my personal data? Any advice on how to proceed?

So you're saying that someone else, who is not me, who also has an iphone, and also has 'find my' enabled, came into bluetooth range of my phone, and it made it show up on the map?

Yes. That's what I'm saying. And have some patience, this is a user to user support forum. Not a real time chat service.
