Apple does not send such messages.

All such messages are scams presented by. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Do not download anything based on such bogus messages.

I became skeptical when they started talking about me paying for a new IP address. I've been asked to get contact information for a another Apple person to verify what they were asking for. They gave me several phone numbers but none of the numbers work.

My Mac is now on a state where it says it's downloading new software with the black screen. Should I try to restart the computer my iPad where the original message came from and my iPhone seem to be fine.
