AirTag beeping randomly

I have had AirTags for about 3 months and decided to buy a dog collar bc my dog is a runner and occasionally will escape the house. It has started beeping randomly. I’ve read that it will do this if it has lost blue tooth connection to your phone. My thought is - it is only a good solution if I work at home and do not leave my dogs side? Generally, beeping devices are used to train a dog or scare them when they are doing something wrong. Needless to say, she is hiding at the moment and Will not wear a reg collar. She is a dog that is not afraid of fireworks or storms , not an scaredy-cat (dog rather) Any thoughts?

A dog who has experienced a training collar, will find the AirTag "experience" very confusing as they do seem to beep randomly at times. That's one reason, I do not recommend using them for this purpose. AirTags make for poor trackers. If you goal is to track your dog when it get's out, you need to consider getting one that is based on GPS, not Bluetooth.
