How to update macOS.10.13 to macOS 10.15 or later? I press the "Software Update" button (Overview button on Finder/About This Mac) and message reads: "1 incompatible update available." What else can be done?

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and if your Mac is a 2012 or newer model(2013 for desktop Mac Pros), then on the download link for it.
Catalina and above won't run 32-bit software and split iTunes into several applications; if you choose one of them, use Go64 as well.
