Can a Mac with Catalina 10.15.7 be upgraded to 17?

I am using macOS Catalina, version 10,15.7 on a 27 inch late 2013 iMac. I am asking because after the last update I lost the possibility of paying bills online. Is there a remedy to my predicament, please?

The latest OS your iMac can officially run is Catalina, unfortunately. However, if your issue is paying bills online, probably an updated web browser is what you need. Although Safari doesn't get updated on older versions of macOS, you can download the latest versions of other browsers such as Firefox or Chrome.

I need to update macOS to be compatible with Chrome, because I use google photos, etc.
But I am concerned about being able to continue using FCP X version 10.5.3

Is that going to work?

This is unrelated to the OP's question. I don't know the answer to it, but you should start a new thread for it – either here, or over in the Final Cut Pro forum.
