Mac M1 to LG Ultra wide Monitor Couldn't Select 5k Resolution

I had this issue a year ago and was able to fix it with the program called SwitchResX to get the 5k resolution option within the display settings on my M1 Mac. This issue came back recently. Perhaps because of the new Mac OS update.

The Solution:

I have the LG 34WK95U-W from 2018. One of the things that helped me last time was SwitchResX and resetting my monitor back to factory settings. This time I tried a hard reset of the monitor (unplug the power cable and hold the power button on the monitor for about a minute when plugged back in), but that didn't work this time. So I found the LG On Control Start program and installed it, once installed it updated my monitor to 4.12,0.4.17 and that fixed my issue!
