Discrepancy in BPM Readings Between Heart.app and ECG.app on Apple Watch
Hello Apple Support Team & Community,
I am reaching out to report a significant issue I've encountered with my Apple Watch 8 concerning heart rate monitoring.
For the past two weeks, I have been medically diagnosed with tachycardia, experiencing a pulse rate ranging between 140 bpm and 170 bpm continuously. However, I've noticed a concerning discrepancy in the readings between two of the Apple Watch's health apps.
The Heart.app consistently shows my heart rate within a normal range of 68 bpm to 78 bpm. This reading includes both automatic and intentional measurements, as well as the daily average. In stark contrast, each time I use the ECG.app to check my heart rate, it accurately detects the elevated rate, often above 150bpm and peaking at 170bpm during measurements.
This discrepancy is not only alarming but could be dangerously misleading. If my watch lacked the ECG function or if I resided in a region where this feature is unsupported, I might have remained unaware of my tachycardia condition. Relying solely on the Heart.app could lead to a false sense of security regarding one's heart health.
I have attached screenshots from yesterday's readings for your reference.
I am concerned about the reliability of the heart rate monitoring system on the Apple Watch and urge you to look into this matter. An accurate and consistent heart rate monitoring is crucial, especially for users relying on these features for health-related insights.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and a resolution to this issue.
Regards,
Kostadin
