hi, i was given a Imac with no Operating System and i cant seem to ge the screen from the Apple logo loading screen. It loads to the end of the bar then just stops. I know it worked before the OS was taken off. Im using a windows keyboard and cant seem to get into any settings at all. How can I get this to work please?
Think its a 2018 model with 27inch
It may have the OS in the Recovery Partition (By the way there is no such thing as a 2018 27" iMac, it is likely a 2017 or possibly a 2019 model) Please learn how to startup in the Recovery Partition and if it will boot there then you may be in luck to install Mac OS. However, to be honest if the computer did not have all the steps done that are noted in What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac then it is best to return or recycle the iMac as you either have a boat anchor or have an incredibly unstable Mac.
