This is sprouting up in many threads in Apple forums. Here is what I posted in one thread:
I've been storming LinkedIn and forums about Apple having this great product in ADP but no support for it.
I posted this:
Well, Apple fans (more so Advanced Data Protection users), Apple has done it again. ADP is, once again, broken.
There is NO consolation in the fact that the message shown to ADP users is different. Using an ADP protected app on iCloud now shows <App_Name? locked. For example, after trying to access NOTES and giving it permission with your iPhone, it shows:
Notes is locked
This application cannot be launched. Please contact customer support.
OK
OK? It isn't OK.
Forums are now buzzing with this issue:
<and I give reference to this forum>
and, once again, support is non-existent.
Apple has this great secure option called Advanced Data Protection but:
1. No one in Apple can seem to support it.
2. Apple seems to be in denial every time ADP is broken.
So, APPLE, please hear this.
Either DO NOT make Advanced Data Protection an option or FULLY SUPPORT it and have complete transparency when if and when it breaks.
Apple has always been known for stellar support on any and all it's products.
It seems that Apple has an Achilles Heel and it is defined by three letters:
ADP."
It's probably going to take Apple at least 2 weeks to quietly fix this until it breaks again.
DO NOT BE LURED into having any support person work on your device because it is NOT your device that is broken. It is the ADP back end.
