What determines the space available to the user of an iPhone? For instance, a space of 256GB on iPhones 13, 14 and 15. Which iPhone model will have more space available to the user? Assuming all have same software update to date.

Each of those models will have the same space available out of the box. However, as each has increasing features and resolution in the camera app as you add photos taken with the camera each photo will take more space. The iPhone 14 and 15 can take 48 MP photos, for example, the iPhone 13 cannot; it’s limit is 24 MP.

Thank you for reply. However I am not asking about cost. I am asking about available space to be used after installing the update is it the same for iPhones 13, 14 and 15, provided all phones have base storage of 256GB.
I am asking this because iPhone 15Pro max does not offer 128GB yet prior models did. I hope this is clear

So with that in mind, was it possible for Apple to have an iPhone 15 Pro max that has a base storage of 128GB? Furthermore, is it advisable to buy an iPhone 15 Pro max with 256GB, assuming you will be using it for photos, videos, and conventional apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook etc.
We can’t speculate on Apple’s intentions, but if you review the history of iPhones each newer model has a higher minimum capacity than the previous model. An iPhone 6 could be had with 16 GB, for example.
The space on an iPhone is determined at the time of purchase. Obviously an iPhone with additional storage costs more.
