Front camera doesn’t work for Timelapse on iPhone 14plus

The front camera on my iphone14plus seems to work for everything, bar the Timelapse function.

I’ve had the phone for a little while, and this is the first time I’ve tried to use the Timelapse, so I’m not sure if this was an issue from the start.

I’m on version iOS 17.1.2

Is this a known issue with iPhone 14 Plus?
