Unable to print using Canon Pixma with my MacBook post latest macOS Sonoma update

I just upgraded to Sonoma on my MacBook Pro, and am no longer able to print with my Canon Pixma 922 series... In researching on the Canon side, it doesn't appear that Sonoma is a supported system with the Pixma printers...

a. Is there a way to solve this?

b. ...failing that, does anyone know of a relatively low cost printer that works well with Sonoma?

Update: I've tried the Generic PostScript option w/o success, and ALSO all the other Canon print drivers that Apple offers up when I attempt to install the MX922 as a new printer

I also spoke to a Canon tech who said the MX922 was a bit of a “unicorn,” doing everything except julienning fries. In my case, the features I want but can't duplicate with ANY all-in-one are a 9600X2400 print resolution for high-quality photos, an auto document feeder that flips 2-sided input to create identical 2-sided copies or scans, and a medium-capacity (250 sheets) paper tray with a second neatly enclosed. He said the lack of support was 100% on Apple, as they do NOT get driver files from Canon, but build their own.

I'm headed over to the B&H site shortly for a TR8620a, which looks to be the closest to the above specs. Hope Apple keeps supporting IT for a few more years.

Had issues with my Canon MG8220 printer/scanner, after High Sierra could only print with usb cable and zero ability to see the scanner. Just recently found updated version Canon IJ Network Scanner SelectorEX.app ver 5.1.0 & Canon IJ Scan UtilityLite.app ver 3.3.1 I can print/ scan no problem in Sonoma, wired or wireless (scanning take a bit a bit longer wireless).

Thanks for weighing in!

... I ended up taking my MacBook Pro BACK to the Apple Store, and having them downgrade from Sonoma back to Ventura... I lost my grandfathered Microsoft Office stuff in the process, but was able to purchase another at a reasonable one-time price on Groupon (who knew?!?!) without having to go to the 365 subscription.

THANKFULLY, my computer is now printing on the Canon Pixma 922 once again (phew*)

Bottom line... I will NOT be upgrading my Mac operating system anytime soon!!!

I’ve had similar issues—*some* documents and scanning are *fine*, but printing a page from the Calendar’s month view (for example) has washed-out colors, faded text and invisible lines between days

Same if I print “for any printer” to a PDF & then try to print the PDF on it. The preview is clear but print is as if thru an opaque film

Problem shows for either my wife’s iMac or my MBP, but NOT very similar page from iPad or iPhone. Only on the MX922 but not on my newer Canon office machine. Both USB and WiFi connections

i called the Canon Upgrade #—they discount upgrade machines—& they said the MX 922 was STILL supported but I haven’t gotten a clear answer on Canon forums or thru to their tech folks

Still an issue on OSX 14.4.1 and printer firmware is up to date

A downgrade is not possible for us. I either beat on the Apple Support people enough (Canon Tech Support says they no longer supply print drivers) or get a replacement, a much less nice printer. (There appears to be NO Canon device with the MX922's high-resolution for photos, plus an automatic document feeder that'll copy/scan both sides of docs, and larger paper trays only show on high-price models.)

I *did* recently set up a quite old Canon printer as a “generic PostScript” printer and will try that at home tonite.
