Why isn't Apple TV working on my Mac?

Every time I open Apple TV on my Mac book pro today, a warning pops up saying my Safari browser needs to be updated and will not play. My macOS software is up-to-date.

I've never had a problem watching Apple TV through my Safari browser on my MacBook Pro until today. I was under the assumption there are no available apps for Macs? Thanks

It should be in your Applications folder labeled "TV". It just may work better than using a browser.
