While there's no direct way to change the author name within the Files app itself, here are the steps you can take to update the information that might be displayed:

1. Check for App-Specific Settings:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint: Open the document, tap "Info" on the top ribbon, locate "Author" under "Related People," right-click the name, and choose "Edit Property."
- Pages or Numbers: Open the document, tap the More button (three dots), tap "Settings," then "Author Name."

A Process of Author Name change in Pages App. On Mac
You can change the name that appears in the comments you make in Pages and for your tracked changes. The new name appears the next time you comment in a document or make tracked changes, as well as in comments and changes you made previously.
- Choose Pages > Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen).
- Click General at the top of the settings window.
- Enter a name in the Author field, then close the settings window.

- Important: If you change the name used with your Apple ID, the name appears in all apps and other locations that use your Apple ID.
If you stop sharing a document, the author name in comments and change tracking reverts to the author name you set in Pages settings.
