Can safari be my default search engine…that is what the Apple instructions say.

I’m attempting to set my personal iPhone to see my work emails and Microsoft teams…I have to utilize Ivanti app utilizing Microsoft Authenticator. Step 1 is the problem. It says that I have to set safari as my default browser. When I go into settings/Safari/Search engine…safari is not an option. No where in setting can I find anywhere that says “default search engine”
