Favourites list interferes with CarPlay Music use.

Every day I use Apple Music to play music using Apple CarPlay. The mandatory Favourites Playlist introduced in iOS 17.2 has added an extra click, and a 3 second delay, to every single interaction I have with playback in CarPlay. This is because instead of permitting me to have “Artists” as my top item on the relatively small car stereo screen, it has been replaced with the Favourites Playlist. There is no option to re-sort the list. Due to the relatively small screen real-estate, and Apple’s decision to have large thumbnails of recently added music taking the place of preferred playlists, there is only room for a single playlist at the bottom of my Car Radio’s screen. iOS 17.2 places the Favourites playlist at the top, and there is no ability to change it. This means I have to click the down arrow every time I want to access music by Artist, which is the only way I want to access my music.

Apple used to have the idea of doing things “with one less click.” You’ve just added a click, and a delay into every interaction. Please fix it.

To remedy the problem I request two actions:

1. In the next patch permit CarPlay to re-order, and ideally select preferred playlists in Apple Music so that customers who don’t want to use the favourites list don’t have to scroll past something they don’t want to use. This functionality is already present in the iPhone, doing so ought to be part of CarPlay too especially when screen real estate is at a premium.
2. Ideally make it possible to disable the Favourites Playlist altogether.
