I was on the IOS 17 beta and went back to IOS 16 because of the repositioning of the buttons on the phone screen. I was hoping, after complaining about the change, that Apple would change things back. So I am asking for anyone who had IOS 17 if your phone screen has the buttons in the same location as my IOS 16 phone screen to confirm where the buttons are.

No one on iOS 17 can use the old way the buttons were organized. Things change and to be honest, I can't even remember how they once were and I'm completely comfortable with where the controls are now in iOS 17. I'm sure you can get accustomed to things, just like millions upon millions of users have.
By not updating, you're missing new features, but more importantly security updates, which protect you and your iPhone. Your choice of course.
I'm sorry you have arthritis and this may be difficult for you. But it's not very likely Apple is going to reverse course on the new button layout and not updating is putting your phone and your data at risk going forward.
I realize that it is kind of an anal thing, but arthritis in my hands causes me to have to move a little it more than I normally would in order to access audio button. And it is painful.
