In my Numbers spreadsheet if I click on a cell to enter data it automatically expand to two lines deep.

I have a couple of Numbers spreadsheets and on one when I click on a cell to enter data it expands to two lines deep. I've obviously inadvertently changes some setting but I don't know how to reverse it.

It only happens on one of my Numbers spreadsheets and the problem persists across all my I Cloud linked devices. Can somebody point me in the right direction to fix it?

M,

If you ever manually increased the size of the until you execute Format > Table > Row and Column Size > Fit, or manually reduce the height. Or, possibly your text is close enough to filling the cell that it thinks it's time to "Wrap".

If you don't want text to wrap and increase the row height, unselect "Wrap text in Cell" Format > Text menu.

First screenshot is cell selected. Second is after clicking again to enter text. Is this what you are asking about? If so, the problem is the cell is too small in height to fit the text at the chosen font size. If you don't want to increase the cell height you can pre-format the cell(s) so that the font is smaller and will fit in the cell. Alternatively, you can enter some text in this cell then adjust/set the row height to fit the text.
