downloading older versions of iMovie

I'm running Monterey 12.7.2

The only version of iMovie I see in the 'app store' will only work with OS13

I tried running 10.1.12 which is the last iMovie version I used before updating to OS12 and it says 'not supported you need to upgrade iMovie'. I don't do a lot of movie editing so this is just now becoming an 'issue' but did I miss some sort of 'window' to upgrade my iMovie?

What am I missing? Am I just 'out of luck'? What version of iMovie do I need and how do I get that version?

Seriously? I'm not a 'good little consumer' who buys a new computer every 2 months. I just want to keep using my hardware! Please Apple, don't be like this. Allow us to use the hardware we PURCHASED from you! Don't 'brick' it by removing software!

To get the highest version of iMovie that you Monterey operating system will run, do the following procedure:

To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before, but deleted it.) Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar.   You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not

successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash (if you moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.
